About Me:
It's political. It's personal. It's straight talk without commercial interruption.
WireTap is a national online magazine by and for young people, which provides a new generation of writers and activists with a space to network, debate and organize. We feature in-depth journalism, news analysis, profiles of young community organizers, opinion pieces by young leaders, cultural coverage, and we amplify the best of dozens of other independent media -- webzines, campus, high school papers, and blogs -- created by a new generation of journalists and activists. Our stories foster dialogue, challenge stereotypes, inspire action, and give young people a voice in the media.
WireTap Magazine was founded by AlterNet.org and is a project of the Tides Center. Since its inception in 1998, WireTap now provides free, daily content to an average of 100,000 unique monthly visitors and 15,000 weekly newsletter subscribers.
