Messengers’ Lounge Music Inc. is the exclusive management company of Shakka Hasberry, the pioneer of Messengers’ Lounge music. The fundamental purpose of this company is to present a solution based concept of socio-economic evolution through the performing arts. Then, to acquire the resources and venture capitalists’ interest to make The Big Picture a reality.
Messengers’ Lounge is a hybrid genre of soul music. It emphasizes the application of spiritual principles that can lead us to a righteous socio-economic movement. The music encompasses the tranquil nature of lounge with a hip-hop overtone, but the cadence of lyricism integrates jazz, soul, funk, reggae, chant, and spoken-word. Ashe’

Goals: Who am I? I am an American… one who believes in a better quality of life for those who struggle in America. I believe that struggling class Americans out-number any political party, religious affiliation, or any particular minority group alone. I believe that patriotism starts as an idea of how an individual may assess their relationship with a nation… and evolves as a collective sentiment of those who dwell in the same environment. As I speak for those individuals of struggling class America… our time for action is long overdue. For us, our hope is not for our nation to provide handouts, but an opportunity to establish complacency with our nation. Who am I? I am a Black American man. I am a father, a son, and a brother to all that share this sentiment of struggle… I do not represent any particular religious or political agenda… I only represent a solution for us to evolve to a people who can share a sense of pride with those who live prosperous in the American way. The solution I represent starts in ones heart and flourishes into their communities, not from legislation. What do I believe in? I believe that there is an Almighty God that dwells in all of us. I believe in his instruction to love one another and to be righteous in all our ways. His instruction has always been the answer, but our history as a nation has taken liberties that offend his will. Let me explain, we live in a society where every day we have the opportunity to either serve God’s agenda, or Man’s agenda… In my own words… God’s agenda is peace, and Man’s agenda is politics. Sometimes we must move politically to achieve peace… but with Man’s agenda- we are not bound to ANYTHING moralistic or ethical toward each other… with Man’s agenda… EVERYTHING GOES! Democracy. Is the will of the people really the law of the land? That depends on what people you have in mind… in a capitalistic society- money talks… you know the golden rule… He who has the gold makes the rule. If you speak of Black Americans… then I know you’re speaking rhetorically. In fact, we are the only people in America that came here on someone else’s agenda, and 500 years later never found the time to establish our own. Who in America activated the Willie Lynch Syndrome? Who in America condoned a design for Black America to self-destruct? The fact is we live in an age where that is our American past… whether it’s left in the past or not… we are only pursuant of the same thing most struggling Americans desire… an American Way that is inclusive of our dream. A dream that is rooted in righteousness… and is consistent of God’s will. His instruction has always been the answer: Psalms 82 God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly and accept the persons of the wicked? Se’-lah. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand: they walk on in darkness: and all the foundations of the earth are out of course. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Arise, O God, judge the earth: For thou shalt inherit all nations. Who are we? We are a people who understand our position, thus our responsibility. We know that no longer can we trust strangers to provide a righteous foundation for us to sustain peace in our lives… no longer can we sit on our hands and belong to the multitude of speculators- our time for action is now. We must be the operatives of our own destiny. There is an African bird that flies forward with the head facing backwards. It is called the Sankofa bird… the principle we call Sankofa means that we have to know where we’ve been to know where we are headed. Black Americans have existed here since the beginning of America without a foundation that regards our spiritual, physical, intellectual, and economic well-being. The irony is that we live in a day when struggling class America is in need of the same thing… individuals across this land of all races, families of all faiths, and cities from every coast are in need of the same solution. I have spent my live comprising what is now a blueprint of our new foundation… Why name this The Black Phoenix Movement? The phoenix since the earlier kimetic period has been a symbol of resurrection. We are all descendants of greatness… and to revert back to our tradition denotes a rebirthing of greatness. Black encompasses all color of the spectrum… thus is universal. We must establish alliance with one another for this movement to take place. It may take a village to raise a child… but it takes more of us to raise a village.
