Do not try and fit the bloc network into a little box. Its bigger than all that. You should consider yourself part of the network if you have attended a national gathering, a Rep Ya Bloc transitions training and/or you feel you can agree to doing following:

Building Leadership Organizing Communities Commitments:

• My Bloc - focusing on your own personal and political development.
• Our Bloc - supporting your peeps in their personal and political development.
• Build Blocs - connect the organizations and groups (*vehicles) you are a part of or connected to a broader movement.

* Vehicles are ways to achieve your goals. Vehicles can be anything from being in a long-term relationship to achieving the goal of raising children to joining a direct action organization and confronting "the system" directly - choose your vehicles wisely, they reflect you.

The Park Vs the Bus
Networks are like Parks and Buses like organizations. Lots of people come to parks to kick it and chill; they come in their own vehicles and buses. BLOC does not seek to become a big bus. Buses break down and have a host of other problems. See BLOC as a way to connect with folks from other buses and as a place to start buses or other vehicles as needed.
