Paid interships for young leaders with CPL
Submitted: January 23, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Hey everyone,
This is a little different from an internship posting...and I wanted to let everyone on the list know about it in case there might be some opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
The Center for Progressive Leadership just launched our 2008 CPL New Leaders Program. As I’m sure a lot of you know, the program is designed to help diverse young leaders jump-start careers in the progressive movement by linking them to paid positions at progressive organizations and providing networking, training, mentorship and coaching as well.
You can read more here
This year’s program includes both a 10-week D.C.-based Internship for 60 young progressive leaders and a new, nation-wide 6-month Fellowship program for young leaders who want to work in select states across the country. All CPL New Leaders get linked to full-time paid positions.
This email is ask for two things:
A lot of you may looking for interns or entry-level staff this year...the New Leaders Program can help link you to talented, diverse applicants for both internships and full-time positions that match your needs...let me know if you might be interested and I’d be happy to talk through the details!
Your support in spreading the word about both opportunities to the youth networks on this list...in particular, it would be great to have your help in nominating a young leader that you know. We had over 1,000 applications last year for 50 spots...but we still need help reaching the most talented young leaders out there.
And of course, if you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks!
Brandon
