2008 California Lead Organizers Institute
March 3-7, 2008
The California Lead Organizer Institute (CLOI), a collaboration between the UC Berkeley Labor Center and Center for Third World Organizing, provides lead organizers with a unique opportunity to develop advanced leadership skills, reflect on their past supervision and leadership of staff and develop structured supervision plans for 2008. CLOI participants work with peers to develop, share strategies, ideas, and skills and to build on-going networks of support.
CLOI will require a full-year commitment, starting March 3-7, 2008. A week-long training will be held in a beautiful retreat setting in San Juan Bautista, Ca. This training will offer workshops and interactive skill-building in: strategic-thinking and campaign work, leadership development, staff training skills, developing member-organizers and learning healthy approaches to our busy work life. There will be two additional follow up sessions during the year-long program.
If you or a member of your staff is interested in participating in CLOI, the first step is to complete the application. The deadline is January 25th 2008. You can download a flyer and application at http://www.ctwo.org/index.php?s=43. A selection committee will review all applications. Applicants will be notified within 2 weeks following the deadline if they have been selected. For more information about applying and tuition fees, please go to: http://www.ctwo.org/index.php?s=56 and click on CLOI 2008 flyer.
